Faith in action

We as followers of Christ know that faith without action is dead. We need to keep our faith alive.
Listen, what is God saying to you?
How can we have faith if we do not act.
Faith is an action word!

Night in Norwalk

I'm in Norwalk, Ohio staying at the Norwalk Inn. I didn't want to stay here, it was cheap and all but I really don't have the money to pay for another night. I started walking but felt God telling me to stay in town. So I went over to the only church in town that I saw with an evening service. I went in and waited for the pastoral staff to arrive. I met one of their pastors but had an unsettled feeling about our meeting of each other. He said I was welcome to stay but I felt like leaving, so I left. Very discouraged I walked over to the Hotel and got a room. As I was unpacking my stuff I felt God say, Go Back. But I don't want to go back. GO BACK! As I was fighting with God on this I found myself sitting on the bed putting my shoes back on! I did not want to go back! But, I started walking back. I was praying the whole way there, God please make this worth it because I really do not want to step foot back in that church. I got to the church and sat down on a chair in the lobby. For 20 min all I got was a,Hi.
Then I met Dwight. An energetic guy who works with the youth. He asked who I was and where I was from. I shared that I was walking to DC. He prayed with me right there! I felt led to ask if I could sit in with the youth group. He said sure. I got in and was introduced to the youth pastor. I was able to share a little about what God has me doing. He ends up using me and the journey God has me on for part of his message to the kids! How cool!
The only reason I went to this church in the first place is because there was a group of kids in the parking lot earlier and I asked one of the girls if they had church tonight she said yes and said I should go because all are welcome. She was in the youth group. She noticed me and said she was glad I made it! If not for that high school student inviting me to come I would have never gone. God used her tonight!
This just is another proof that we need to LISTEN to God. Even when we do not want to! God knows what he is doing. It is so easy to doubt in God for some reason even though I know he comes through. Darn that Satin!
I promise, if you listen to God and follow Jesus in ALL you say and do your life can only get better. There is nothing in this world that even comes close to what it feels like when we choose to follow Christ. The power of God is amazing. Yes, it will be hard sometimes but it is truly worth what ever trials, pain, hard times or any thing else we may go through. In the end Jesus wins!
