There is no way I could have made any of this happen. God is so good.
He opens doors we don't expect and closes doors we don't expect also.
The hard part is going through the right door. That's where prayer and discernment comes in.
The meeting yesterday with Serving with Kindness Ministry went very well. It is a great organization with a great cause. The main mission is to serve people who are going through traumatic health situations in a variety of ways, from cleaning to yard clean up and hopefully minor emergency home repair in the future.
Because this is a no-profit, funding will come from donations or sponsorships.
I am continuing to pray about this board position. I feel really good about it but want to make the right choice.
I had another opportunity to share with the middle school students at The Gate ministry located inside Hamilton Christan Reformed Church. I think sometimes I go into something trying to reach the masses when sometimes all God wants is to touch one person. Sometimes we may never even know who we touched. I was very humbled yesterday when one of the students that was at The Gate last week came up to me. He shared with me that for one of their MEAP tests they had to write about someone that they would want to speak at their school. He said that he wrote about me. Crazy, never expected that. Out of all the people that are way more interesting than me and have done way cooler and better things than me?
I think that goes to show that we as followers of Jesus, need to act like Jesus more often. We never know who is watching or listening. Who knows, maybe someday that kid will be our president.
After sharing with the kids I was able to talk with Pastor John. He had a lot to share as well. He asked me to pray about being on the board of The Gate as they are planning on restructuring the program.
So please join me in prayer for that as well.
