1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
I know many of us have a hard time loving, especially during hard times or when we have been hurt. But it is not our job to judge but to forgive and to love. Love always wins, love always comes through. When we love others can love.
Love is not a feeling, love is an action.
Without love I am nothing. Do I mess up? Of course, I am sinful by nature. If God did not love me then I would be destined for Hell. I as a man am not worthy of Gods love but because of Gods grace he loves us all.
Only through God can I love through everything but even then I still mess up because I am human. I'm not perfect and God knows this. That is the wonderful thing about God, I don't need to be perfect, I can't be perfect but God still loves me.
That is the love I hope to have for others that is the love I try to have for others, this is the love we all need to have for others.
Do you have love for people who don't believe in what you are doing? Do you have love for the people who criticize you? Do you have love for the people who care about you but still think you are wrong? Do you have love for the sinners, for the sex offenders (even if it's somebody you know personally), for murderers, for adulterers? God has love for all of those people and I hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteI hope I do yes. But loving someone does not mean we agree or accept what someone does. There are consequences for our sin that is a result from our sin.
DeleteWe can still love but not agree with someone.
As a parent I love my kids but there is still discipline for wrong doing.
God loves us even though we sin. God loves those who do not believe in him but that does not mean they are saved.
God so loved the world that he gave his son but the whole world does not love him.
Just because there love does not mean there is acceptance for a sinful life style.
I do understand that there may be people that love and care for me and do not understand. I am not looking for understanding. I appreciate all concern and it shows I am cared for. Sometimes being obedient to God means others not understanding.
As it says in scripture, lean not my own understanding. God is bigger than me and sometimes I don't even understand. My job is not to understand but to be obedient.
All I can say is God is faithful, Gods grace is real and God provides.
Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above ALL else and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
